The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Supervisory Team for Promoting Omani Products “OPEX”, continues its successful participation in the Saudi Food Show 2025, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Sultanate’s pavilion has witnessed a remarkable turnout from visitors and industry experts, all eager to explore investment prospects within Oman’s growing food sector while discovering the exceptional quality of Omani products.

Lubna Al Harthi, Export Development Director at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, highlighted that the participation at the Saudi Food Show 2025 aims at promoting ‘Oman Exports’ initiative and platform, which focus on streamlining the process of exporting Omani products. “Non-oil Omani exports play a vital role in strengthening the national economy and driving the economic diversification envisioned in the Sultanate’s future vision. Therefore, participation in the Saudi Food Show is a key step towards positioning the Sultanate as a leading hub in the F&B sector. By aligning the efforts of government bodies, businesses, and exporters, the Sultanate of Oman advances its sustainable development goals and reinforces its presence in the global economy,” she pointed out.

Majid Al Maqrashi, Director of Support Department at Ibri Industrial City, emphasised the significance of the Saudi Food Show as a platform for attracting investments to Madayn’s industrial cities in general and Ibri Industrial City in particular. He noted that with the 100% completion of the infrastructure and services at Ibri Industrial City, the city offers a fully integrated environment for industrial, commercial, and logistics activities. “Its strategic location, just 150 kilometers from Rub Al Khali border with Saudi Arabia, positions Ibri Industrial City as an ideal destination for businesses looking to expand their presence in the region,” Al Maqrashi said.

Omaima Bahajaj, Marketing and Communication Manager at Salalah Free Zone, highlighted that the free zone’s participation, alongside other key Omani bodies, reflects a shared commitment to promoting Sultanate’s presence at regional platforms. She stressed that the Saudi Food Show is an excellent opportunity to highlight the competitive advantages offered by Salalah Free Zone to investors, and to continue attracting major investments that contribute to sustainable development and economic diversification in the Sultanate of Oman.

On his part, Abdullah Al Zakwani, Senior Entrepreneurship Executive at the SMEs Development Authority, shared that the Authority’s third consecutive participation in the Saudi Food Show reaffirms its ongoing commitment to empowering SMEs in Oman’s food sector. “This event serves as an invaluable opportunity for the SMEs to promote their products, explore new market opportunities, and connect with global business leaders and innovators,” Al Zakwani said. He also underscored the Authority’s dedication to enhancing the competitiveness of the SMEs through innovative and sustainable programmes that aim to diversify income sources and support the growth of the national economy.

Ibrahim Al Siyabi, Head of Marketing and Quality at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, pointed out that the Ministry is participating in this event to showcase its vision for sustainable food and water security, supporting national self-sufficiency and economic growth. In fact, Saudi Food Show 2025 offers a platform to engage with global food companies interested in investing in Oman, driven by the Sultanate’s strong infrastructure and strategic priorities under Oman Vision 2040.

The OPEX team, which includes the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn”, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), and the SMEs Development Authority, aims through its participation in the Saudi Food Show to boost Omani exports, explore new markets for Omani products, and support SMEs by providing a platform for exposure and networking with international investors. The team is also focused on attracting investments, promoting investment opportunities, and building strategic partnerships to strengthen trade ties and enhance trade exchange.
